Well, it was a bad performance by Pakistan yesterday. Salman Butt and Sohail Tanvir did their best to loose the match. Salman Butt should not be playing any more. On a lighter note my friend was saying that why the hell does Younis Khan pick him for playing eleven and my answer was to raise blood pressure of the nation. Anyways the good news is that today's match is with New Zealand and i can't remember any world cup match which we have lost to black caps. So that gives some confidance but getting such confidance is not enough.
For pakistan Razzaq comes in and if Salman Butt is not dropped it means Younus is not serious about reaching semis. For New Zealand Jesse Ryder is gone and Ross Taylor and Daniel Vettori, vital cogs both, are still hampered; Vettori has yet to play a game in the tournament.
Interesting Fact:
- Younus Khan, whom i always term as the trying to be cool captain, is the second highest run getter at an average of 66. He is second to Dilshan of Sri Lanka.
- New Zealand have lost to Pakistan three times in a World Cup semi-final; 1992 and 1999 in 50-over World Cups and in the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup. I wish this would have been a semi final
