MONTREAL -- Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark will return to the city where she earned her first big victory on the WTA Tour.
Wozniacki and world No. 3 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus confirmed their intention to play at the Aug. 4-13 event at Uniprix Stadium on Tuesday.
"We are thrilled to welcome back our 2010 champion Caroline Wozniacki and one of the game's most talented players in Victoria Azarenka," said tournament director Eugene Lapierre. "These two players are going to be the face of women's tennis for many years to come and it is great to see that they continue to include the Rogers Cup as part of their summer schedule."
Wozniacki defeated Russia's Vera Zvonareva in the final when the Premier WTA tournament was last played in Montreal. She made a second-round exit at the Rogers Cup last summer in Toronto.
Zvonareva and fellow top-10 player Marion Bartoli of France announced last week that they would play at the 2012 tournament.
